Child Policy: 10 years old. Must be comfortable on the water and able to swim if required.

Our tours are suitable for a low level of fitness. Guests must be able to step onboard / off the boat with ease.

There is some uneven terrain when accessing local landmarks and sites of interest during our premium offering.

We have a barefoot policy onboard the vessel. Bring your swimwear, a towel, sun protection and any sea sickness tablets you may require. Wear comfortable clothing and footwear suitable for walking.

Enjoy an exclusive hands-on Māori culture dining experience. Following a warm welcome, take part in preparing your own traditional hāngi, where meats, vegetables, and steam pudding are cooked underground over white-hot volcanic rocks.
While the hāngi cooks, enjoy a guided walk across sacred lands of Ōkūrei (Town Point) Maketũ. Afterwards, return to Deon’s home and experience the manaakitanga - hospitality, kindness and care - as you cook traditional fry bread and unearth your hāngi and then enjoying a generous feast together.

Feast on Deon’s famous curried mussels and smoke fish chowder with freshly cooked fried bread, grilled Maketū mussels with Muirs Tour’s secret sauce, and fillet your own fish for the freshest Fish ‘n’ Chips in town.
With the smoker at your fingertips, you can create your own manuka-smoked fish or enjoy watching Deon share techniques from his time in Japan as he prepares sashimi the old-fashioned way.
